Solutions for a future life

Assuming responsibility

Everybody is talking about environmental protection. Politics, the economy, environmental associations... the list of people who want to have their say is long. But the main concern is generally on the excessively high CO2 burden – the continued pollution of our groundwater and soil is all too often ignored: a fatal error!

The time has come to launch suitable measures that reflect the current state-of-the-art. Anyone who still believes they can postpone investments in this sector knowingly accepts the continued and progressive pollution of our environment and has to bear the responsibility that the consequential costs will be even higher.

Damaged sewers and conduits are a risk to the environment and already are the cause of huge costs. On the one hand, sewage seeps out of the sewers into the groundwater, and on the other mostly clean external water flows into the conduits and is contaminated by pollutants. The result: the amount of water that has to be cleaned and thus the associated costs rise unnecessarily and health risks increase.

The SAERTEX-LINER® - the environmentally friendly and economical solution

Sewer renovations with the SAERTEX-LINER® are much more environmentally sound and economical than conventional methods where complete roads have to be dug up. A pipe-in-pipe renovation does not destroy the soil and nature, it produces less noise and dirt and - last but not least – the method is much faster than the conventional, open cut technique.

Some figures

There are around 500,000 km of public sewers in Germany and approx. 1.5 million km of private underground pipes and house connection lines. The ATV-DVWK Deutsche Vereinigung für Wasserwirtschaft, Abwasser und Abfall e.V. has estimated that around 20 % of the public sewer systems will require renovation in the short to medium term and a further 21.5 % in the long term. The defect rate for private lines is reckoned to be around 50–80 %.

Conclusion

We believe it is time to face up to our responsibility and use the technical possibilities our disposal - in the interests of us all.
