Installation
For what old pipe conditions and materials are SAERTEX-LINERs suitable?
Basically, it is technically possible to rehabilitate all old pipe conditions. Metallic, non-metallic-inorganic, organic, and multi-component materials can be rehabilitated.
How is the old pipe cleaned, and what degree of cleaning is necessary?
Generally, the free cross-section of the pipeline must be restored, which means incrustations, deposits, and obstacles (e.g., inward-protruding structural elements, sagging weld seams and misalignments) must be removed flush to the pipe.
How are SAERTEX-LINERs drawn in?
To prevent damage to the liner, a sliding film is first of all drawn into the pipeline to be rehabilitated by means of a cable winch. Afterward, the liner is drawn in at a speed of ca. 5 m/min. A swivel prevents the liner from twisting while it is being drawn in.
How are SAERTEX-LINERS cured?
All resins used in SAERTEX-LINERS contain photoinitiators and peroxide in addition depending on the wall thickness. An exothermic reaction is stimulated in these initiators by means of radiation from a UV light source, and the resin is cured.
How are the ends of the SAERTEX- LINERS connected?
For pressure pipelines, the ends are connected by means of liner end sleeves (LEM) on a new piece of pipe, or alternatively a suitable pipe coupling. In free-flowing pipelines/sewers, the LEM can be mounted directly on the old pipe, for example.
Is it possible to connect connectors / connecting pieces to a SAERTEX-LINER?
Yes. A variety of techniques are available on the market for free-flow pipelines/sewers. For pressure pipelines, this is the subject of the research and development work of SmC.

In what nominal size range is the SAERTEX-LINER available?
The SAERTEX-LINER is available for the application range of wastewater free-flow pipelines with nominal sizes of DN 150 mm – DN 1600 mm.
Which resin systems are available for the SAERTEX-LINER?
There is a choice of the following resin systems: polyester resin, vinyl ester resin, and styrene-free vinyl ester resin.
How is the SAERTEX-LINER constructed?

For how long can the SAERTEX-LINERs be stored?
The shelf life of SAERTEX-LINERs is dependent on the resin system that is used and the storage temperature. It can be up to 12 months for our liners with UP resin. Please get in touch with your contact for further details.

What is the delivery time for the SAERTEX-LINER?
The delivery time for wastewater free-flowing applications is usually 10 workdays. This may vary depending on the season.
Are the dry goods manufactured in-house?
As the sole manufacturer of GRP liners, SAERTEX multiCom manufactures everything in-house, from the individual glass fibers to the finished liner.
Are the SAERTEX-LINERs impregnated at the factory?
The SAERTEX-LINERs are impregnated exclusively at the factory.
